LO4 KTA 5: Pre - production documents - What are they used for?

Proposal/treatments/project outline- A plan or suggestion, made to outline what you plan on doing, why and how for the client brief.

Production schedule- Plan out the raw materials that you may use, planning technique, work flow, activities and tasks, (work plan)

SWOT analysis- Outlines the internal strengths and weaknesses, created to show the client the threats, problems and their possible competitors.   

Asset log- Personal log for all the assets to avoid loosing any, tells us where we are getting the assets from and where we are getting them from. 

Call sheet- Tells the staff where they need to be, when and if they need any equipment, contact information. 

Risk assessment- Outlines any risks that may occur when the product is being made, low risk, medium risk, high risk and how these can be avoided/minimize.

Storyboard- Plans the scenes of the product to create an organized plan to be followed. Orders an audio visuals product and tells the mise-en-scene, audio, actors, location, camera movements, editing, length of the scene. 

Script- Outline what is going to be said by who in an organized fashion, may include stage directions and any sounds that will be added. 

Shooting script- The version of screenplay used during the production of a motion picture, orders of technical equipment, camera work, location, editing etc. 

Concept art- Artwork produced at the start of a video game, movie, or other complex visual work, character development. 

Visualization diagram- a drawing/draft of a plan created by a designer to show a possible layout of the product for a poster, games cover, DVD cover, advertising. This includes annotation, samples of colour, house style, logos, position of images, font styles, types of images and justify why it is appropriate. 

Flat plan/wireframe- Page plan of a publication that shows how the website and app are laid out. Images, navigation, colours, text boxes etc. justification. 

Prototype- Early sample, model, or release of a product built to test, early working version. 

Page mock-up- A static design for a magazines, newspapers, leaflets or application that features many of its design elements but not a functional product, print production, justification. 

Set design- Design and creation of a set used in works or performing arts, video games, film, tv programmes, animation, mise-en-scene is appearing. 

Form (i.e. consent, release)-  A legal contract entered between businesses and a participant in business related events, permissions form. 

Site structure diagram- Is a diagram of the conceptual data model which documents the entities and their relationships, as well as the constraints that connect them. Every single link on the home page working and the subpages, navigation diagram.
